About the authors:

Fabiola D. Gaines, RD, LD is a founding partner of Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., and the developer of the original Soul Food Pyramid, a culturally sensitive food pyramid. She is co-chair of the Cultural Diversity Committee for the Central Florida American Diabetes Association and chief clinical dietitian for Depugh Nursing Center in Winter Park, FL. In addition, she provides educational seminars and has appeared in numerous radio and television spots. Ms. Gaines is an avid lecturer on culturally sensitive nutrition education for people of color.

Roniece Weaver, MS, RD, LD, is co-founder and executive director of Hebnni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., co-developer of the Soul Food Pyramid, and co-chair of the Cultural Diversity Committee for the Central Florida American Diabetes Association.
